1 aides/personal assistants for Petite, Bright Young Woman with a Physical Disability Join a small team of dynamic and dedicated young women providing 1:
1 care, support and aide with all personal, social, vocational, recreational, and daily living activities for physically challenged young woman with Cerebral Palsy.
Young woman is petite, bright (UC Berkeley grad), good humored, thoughtful, and determined to live her most independent life.
But to do this she needs the support of some very special aides like you.
She is quite capable, but also quite physically compromised and needs a lot of assistance.
no lifting, but needs help with walking, transfers, transportation(our family vehicle) and all ADLs.
Experience with physical disabilities helpful but not requiredwill train.
Support is provided in the home as well as community settings.
Young woman will soon be moving to a Torrance apartment.
Open shifts:
#1 4pm-10pm Monday through Friday plus add Friday overnight, 10pm - 9 am Saturday (41 hours) #2.
Saturdays 5pm - 9am Sunday ; Wednesdays 10pm - 8am Thursdays; (26 hours plus opportunities to sub) Most overnight hours are paid asleep but must be a very light sleeper to respond to night time needs Seek bright, caring, warm, highly responsible and reliable candidates who seeks a job where they can truly make a difference and are able to provide the support and assistance necessary for this young adult to grow and flourish in her life and career.
Provide emotional support, encouragement, and friendship too.
Also great for those interested in nursing, PT, OT, speech pathology, social work, counseling, etc.
Required:
Valid CA driver's license with good driving record.
Strong computer, communication and writing and skills.
Physically fit.
Bachelors degree preferred not required.
Patience, a big heart and a nurturing nature required.
