Be a part of the culinary renaissance happening in Manhattan Beach by overseeing Events for one of the busiest and most well renowned restaurants in the South Bay.
With its floor-to-ceiling ocean views, innovative farm-to-table cuisine, amazing team, and unbeatable local clientele, The Strand House is the ultimate work environment.
We are specifically looking for an individual who is open to a 6-month temporary role, beginning around August 1st and ending around March 21st.
In-depth training will be provided, and ongoing support will be available for the duration of the role.
A permanent role is not guaranteed, but may be available at a different Zislis Group property (this is very much TBD based on various factors).
This is a full time role (40-55 hours per week - especially busy during December's holiday party season).
Nights and weekends will be required, as business dictates.

If so, we want to hear from you! What you will do:
Practice genuine hospitality with each and every guest and colleague.
Embody our core qualities of Friendliness, Show, Delight and Promptness in everything you do.
Field all inquiries for all types of events (weddings, social, corporate, etc).
Help the guest envision their ideal event by touring them through the property and showing them everything The Strand House has to offer.
Once the contract is signed, you will be responsible for servicing all aspects of the event, up until the day of the event.
You will detail menus, build floor plans, upsell services, and take care of any and all needs of the clients with genuine warmth and enthusiasm.
Liaise with other departments in ensuring events are executed flawlessly.
Prepare the BEO packet and attend BEO meetings, communicating clearly all event needs to other departments.
Manage billing in conjunction with the Accounting Department Assist in other areas of the restaurant as needed.
This role might be for you if you have Minimum of 5 years events sales and operations experience at a large, upscale restaurant.
knowledge and experience with event management softwares, specifically tripleseat.
A Food and Beverage background (strongly preferred).
Desire and ability to deliver 5-star hospitality and service to all guests.
Ability to generate revenue through superior sales and servicing skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
A strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
