Job responsibilitiesAmazon is looking for experienced Technical Program Manager for a technology team within Alexa Search.
Alexa Search is part of our ongoing Alexa Information efforts focused on reinventing information extraction and retrieval for a voice-forward, multi-modal future.
We are looking for creative Program Managers to help design, develop, and deploy systems that collect and process data at Web scale; create text and data derivatives; and develop novel algorithms that use these derivatives to improve access to and retrieval of these derivatives in the context of Alexa user experiences and other Amazon services.
You will own the design and delivery of software services that cost-efficiently scale to Web-size and offer a great customer experience.
These services will process Big Data repositories and will be involved in all stages of text processing and knowledge distillation, from collection, to processing and cleaning, to extraction and verification.
In the process, you will collaborate closely with a team of Engineers and Applied Scientists with expertise in specialized areas such as Natural Language Processing, Text Mining, Search, and Machine Learning.
You will be expected to gather business and systems requirements from internal and external stakeholders, write specifications, drive project schedules from design to release, and manage the production launch.
You will work with our talented dev team to remove roadblocks and sustain development velocity.
You will leverage your team to provide solutions that are highly usable, scalable, extensible, and maintainable.
This role is inherently cross-functional - you will work closely with engineers, scientists, managers, and key partner teams.
You will be expected to regularly present to leadership on the overall status of key strategic initiatives, overall project risks and articulate recommended mitigation paths.
We're looking for someone who possesses a solid TPM background, has lead medium/large projects in the past, and has technical background and experience (ideally within Amazon or other Big Data organizations).
We're looking for someone who can keep their eye on the ball and not let anything fall off the radar.
Being able to deal with ambiguity, anticipate bottlenecks and escalations, set realistic (yet aggressive) expectations, and clearly communicate to all levels of stakeholders are key requirements.
Key job responsibilitiesYou will be responsible for the end to end delivery of a product.
Your responsibilities also include collection of business requirements, establishing technical requirements, writing specifications, driving project schedules from design to release, and managing production and launches.
You coordinate design and implementation efforts between cross-functional internal teams across orgs to develop scalable solutions.
In this role you would need to not only excel in setting the bar on the ability to discover the true requirements but also when to dive deep to keep the project on track.
You must lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines and clearly and concisely communicate, both verbally and in writing, with senior management on status, risks and required mitigations to maintain project commitments.
You must also demonstrate the ability to support the team in making appropriate trade-offs to optimize time-to-market, clearly communicate goals and desired outcomes to internal cross-functional teams and senior management as necessaryA day in the lifeWe deal with web scale data which means querying, parsing and processing them via big data pipelines (EMR, Glue, etc).

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
